On the 14th of November, the delegation from IET TSUC had a round table discussion with the College of the International Business of Shenyang Normal University.
First, we had a tour of CIB facilities, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, simulation labs, computer classrooms, library, student canteen, etc. Later, we had a meeting with the Party Secretary of the College, Liu Yajun, the Vice Dean, Cai Yuzhou, and the Research Coordinator, Feng Li, to discuss the potential cooperation between our schools. Both sides shared the wish of cooperation and found a common ground to cooperate in running the joint programme of International Economics and Trade in 2+2 format.
CIB has a joint programme with Fort Hays State University, USA, and we have reached initial agreements on designing a joint Tajik-Chinese degree or Tajik-American degree based on the accreditation of Shenyang Normal University.

On 15 November, we held a seminar on education reform, hosted by the Institute of Pedagogy at Shenyang Normal University. Experts from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan presented their national education systems and the reforms they have undertaken.
Saidqosim Mukhtorov presented the education system of Tajikistan and the reforms undertaken in the last decade, focusing in particular on higher education and highlighting the Higher Education Development Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, funded by the World Bank.

ERASMUSDAYS here at IETTSUC!

The International Center and Global Engagement of IET TSUC conducted Erasmusdays.
In the beginning of the meeting the head of ICGE – Saidqosim Mukhtorov had an active discussion with students about the Erasmus+ prospective and the expectations. It is very pleasant that there are enormous number of students who admire and would like to participate in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility.
After the discussion section Saidqosim Saidosimovich has announced the opportunities given by the project and calls for partner universities. Now application procedures are open to LAUREA University of Applied sciences, Varna University of Management, University of Seville and University of Osijek. Also he pointed out that soon there will announcements about call for our Spanish partner universities – University of Cantabria and University of Cordoba in the coming weeks.

The delegation of the CEES project continues to work at IET TSUC

Institute of Economy and Trade of TSUC in Khujand is welcoming guests from the USA. Our institute is pleased to inform you that in the framework of UniCEN developed by the American Council for Higher Education, we are having guests from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Virginia). First of all, Mr. Marty Kaszubowski and Mrs. Sharon Scannell were introduced about the Tajik culture, institute, and the process of internationalization being realized by the Head of ICGE – Saidqosim Saidosimovich.

On the second day under the project CEES (Collaboration for Enhanced Entrepreneurship Support), our honorable guests had a meeting with the students and there was a discussion about the main aspects should be known by business owners and start-uppers. It should be noted that students were actively asking questions about the businesses they have or aiming to build during the conversation. We hope that the suggestions and tips given by our American friends will be fruitfully used by our students.

Straight after the conversation with students in the ICGE room was organized a roundtable with the presence of Mr. Marty Kaszubowski and Mrs. Sharon Scannell and the mentors of the World Economy Department.  There was a discourse about the principles and criteria of being an investor, which is gaining momentum in our society. We were pleased to know Mr. Marty to be a practical investor, thus it was very interesting to listen his experiences. During the discussion mostly the investment climate in Tajikistan, perspectives, and the cons of investment were the main theme of the conversation. 

We have finished our UNICAC mobility under W.P. 3.7.2. PILOT TESTING

In the framework of UNICAC project IET welcomes partners from Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Staff of TUIT will have mobility actions under UNICAC W.P. 3.7.2. PILOT TESTING. According to mobility agenda our guests were welcomed by the authorities of the IET. After, there was organized a roundtable at the International Center and Global Engagement office with Dalerjon Mirpochoev – the Deputy Director on Research and International Affairs and Saidqosim Mukhtorov – the Head of the ICGE. The main topic of discussion was about strengthening partnership between the HEIs, which is one of the important goals in the framework of UNICAC. Also Saidqosim Saidosimovich conducted a presentation about IET TSUC to our gusts from Uzbekistan. Follow us to be aware about other sessions of the mobility.

The second day of the mobility under UNICAC project started with the presentation about the activity of the International Center and Global Engagement of IET by the Head of ICGE – Saidqosim Saidosimovich. He presented information about students and staff mobility in the framework of the several programs like UNICAC, Erasmus+ ICM and etc. It is important to note that the curve of mobility performed by IET is growing vertically and in 2022 there has been organized more than 30 mobilities, this number is expected to be increased by the end of the year. The mobility staff of TUIT were excited and liked the activity of the ICGE very much. Straight after it, our guests expressed a wish to visit IET Acceleration of Digital Business center and there was organized a tour.

According to the agenda there was a planned lecture about telecommunications by Professor Ahmad Yusupov from TUIT. Professor has told about the history of telecommunications, its perspectives and implementation. The lecture was conducted very interesting and students were very active in discussion.

The 3rd and 4th days of the mobility there was held a roundtable with Information Technology department and the actual topic of the conversation was about information technology opportunities for partnership and potential projects. During the conversation two parties have identified some common points and decided to strengthen collaboration on information technology sphere.

Also there was conducted a lecture on Artificial Intelligence by lecturer from TUIT – Askaraliev Odilbek. As artificial intelligence is fast growing industry there is a rising interest among the youth of our country. Thus, the lecture was very informative and practical.

According to the agenda there were organized 3 lectures by IET TSUC professors in the fields of financial math, and on topics about “The independence of Tajikistan, post – soviet epoch, civil war” and “Internationalization of Tajik philosophy and science in the past”. Straight after that, Professor Ahmed Yusupov led a lecture on nanotechnologies and students actively participated.

The last day of the mobility was mostly busy by attending the lectures. Staff of the IET has organized two lectures on information technologies about programming language Pascal and C++. Our dear guests from TUIT were given their mobility certificates by the Head of IET ICGE – Saidqosim Mukhtorov. Professor Ahmed Yusupov expressed his deepest appreciation to IET TSUC staff for hosting them in the framework of the UNICAC W.P. 3.7.2. PILOT TESTING. Both authorities of IET TSUC and TUIT agreed in opinion that the end of the mobility is the beginning of more tight partnership between the HEIs.

Fayzulloev settlement of the Chorkukh, reports the Press Center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security.

Border Troops’ Press Center: Nearly 350 Afghan Citizens Cross State Border Over Two Days

DUSHANBE, 14.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – From July 13 through July 14, 347 Afghan citizens, including 91 men, 77 women and 177 minors (64 boys and 113 girls), who are Kyrgyz origin residents of the Andemin village of the Wakhan district of Badakhshan province, fearing persecution by the armed groups of Taliban movement and in order to save their lives, crossed the state border in the area of Kyzyl-Rabot rural community of the Murgob district and entered Tajikistan. While crossing the state border, two babies died, reports the Press Center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for be National Security.

DUSHANBE, 04.06.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Press Center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan reports that contrary to the official statement of the Kyrgyz side, which does not correspond to reality, published in the media, as a result of the work of the Tajik and Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation, out of a total length of 986.7 km, 519,9 km of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border described. One of the remaining undivided sections in this area is the Shatty Pass.

SCNS Department in Vahdat Detains Residents on Suspicion of Involvement in Salafi Extremist Movement

DUSHANBE, 22.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Department of the State Committee for National Security in Vahdat has detained individuals on the suspicion of involvement in the banned Salafi extremist movement. The detained Vahdat and Rudaki residents are Obidov Abdulhak, Shuhiev Abuzar, Mahmadulloev Abdullo, Turkov Aziz, and Tabarov Ahmadkhoja.

A criminal case has been filed against them. The investigation is ongoing.
