The World Economy Department was created in 2010 as a result of restructuring the department of economic theory and world economy.
The Department prepares students with profiles:
- 1-25010302 – «Economy of international trade and commerce»
- 1-25010407 — «Finance and Credit in international activity».
Its mission is to prepare high qualified specialists in the field of international business and international finance relations, through developing and implementing innovative methods in educational process.
The bachelor’s degree program is conducted in two languages: Russian and English. The World Economy Department is pioneer between economic higher institutions of the Republic in the field of specialists’ preparation with English language of instruction. In 2014-2015 academic years the department has trained 11 English bachelor groups and 4 Russian groups; also there were 18 master students.
Department’s staff has high academic potential. Professors regularly take part in international programs and scientific conferences in the country and abroad. They’ve had internships in the leading universities of different countries such as: Russia, USA, Germany, Spain, Hungary, etc.
The Department closely collaborates with Kazakh University of Management, Economy and Forecasting, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Finance University under the Government of Russian Federation, Polytechnic University of Valencia, and University of New Mexico. In order to enable educational process with educational and statistical materials the Department closely collaborates with the Embassy of USA in the Republic of Tajikistan and Asian Bank of Development.
World Economy Department actively collaborates with the administration of Free economic zone “Sughd”, commerce bank “Bank Eskhata”, microdeposit organization “IMON International”, microdeposit organization “Arvand” and others, to facilitate the process of internships and employment for students, organization of round tables, workshops, etc.
